Rebecca JohnsonPA-C- Physician Assistant
Rebecca Johnson is a certified physician assistant specializing in orthopedics. She completed her Bachelors of Arts degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Butler University in Indianapolis and then earned her Master of Physician Assistant Studies from University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, NE. She holds two board certifications with the National Commission of Physician Assistants as a physician assistant as well as a specialty certifications in orthopedic surgery.

She is a member of American Academy of Physician Assistants & New York State Society of Physician Assistants.

Jason D’Amelio, MS, ATC-L, FRCMSMedical Team Athletic Trainer
Jason D’Amelio, has over 20 years working in the field of sports medicine/athletic training. He completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science with a concentration in Athletic Training from William Paterson University and went on to earn his Masters of Science degree in Kinesiology, Sports Medicine from Michigan State University. He is a Board Certified & Licensed Athletic Trainer, Functional Movement Specialist FRC© & an Active Release Technique ART© Practitioner. He joined Dr. Allen’s staff at the Hospital for Special Surgery after running a successful private sports rehabilitation and functional training business where he worked with a variety of athletes ranging from high school to professional sports.

Jason implements a training philosophy that combines both functional training & corrective exercise methods to create a more athletically balanced & efficient movement system. He has previously worked with teams in the NFL (New York Giants & Cleveland Browns, NFL Europe Rhein Fire), with Major League Baseball (New York Yankees organization), the NCAA (Michigan State, Columbia & St John’s University), the NASL New York Cosmos soccer club and independently with athletes from the ATP, MLS, FIFA & United States Olympians. His career working with professional athletes has taken him to Cuba, Spain, Brazil, and Australia. He is long standing member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association Board of Certifications.

Kriezl Liaban, RN, BSN, ONCPractice Manager, Surgical Coordinator
Kriezl is an experienced healthcare professional with over 16 years of nursing experience. She completed her Bachelor in Science Nursing at William Paterson University. In 2008 she began her career at HSS through the nurse residency program. Kriezl developed a strong foundation in patient care, clinical procedures, and healthcare systems. Her dedication to providing compassionate care and her keen attention to detail allowed her to excel in nursing, where she worked in pre-operative, recovery room, and call-center settings. Kriezl is ACLS, PALS, BLS, and Orthopedic Nurse Certified.

Building on her professional experience, Kriezl transitioned into her current role as Practice Manager and Surgical Coordinator for Dr. Allen. In this position, she oversees the daily operations of the practice, ensuring smooth workflows, efficient patient scheduling, and the highest standards of care, managing all aspects of pre- and post-operative planning, working closely, patients, and medical staff to ensure seamless communication and optimal patient outcomes.

With her unique combination of clinical and managerial knowledge, Kriezl plays a key role in both the operational success of the practice and in maintaining a patient-centered approach. Her ability to balance the demands of healthcare management while prioritizing patient care continues to make her an invaluable asset.

Kriezl is a proud mother of four who balances her busy family life with a passion for staying active and pursuing her career. Known for her strong work ethic and dedication, she finds joy in both managing the demands of motherhood and maintaining a healthy, active lifestyle. In her free time, Kriezl loves working out, whether it’s hitting the gym, going for a run, or participating in fitness classes. Staying active not only helps her maintain balance but also fuels her energy for both her family and professional life.

Steven JamesPatient Care Coordinator
Steven James schedules patient appointments for Dr. Answorth Allen’s office. Appointments are usually booked within 14 days of the request. This includes the West side, Westchester, and the Omni Long Island location. Our patients are encouraged to bring all images including MRIs and x-rays to the appointment.

Mr. James assists with the checkout process after the orthopedic consultation with Dr. Allen is completed. This includes all imaging appointments and authorizations for (MRI’s, Ultrasounds, CT Scans etc), assisting patients with scheduling physical therapy appointments, on and off campus, and initiating prescriptions for viscosupplementation injections.

Constantine F. Gulmatico, PA-CPhysician Assistant
Constantine is a certified physician assistant specializing in orthopedic surgery and sports medicine. He completed his Bachelor of Arts degree in Physician Assistant Studies at St. John’s University in Queens, New York, and holds a board certification with the NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants). Constantine aims to help those with injuries reach their full recovery and return to normal activities, even when experiencing setbacks. His goal is to help patients overcome the physical and psychological barriers and achieve better musculoskeletal health.
